Cockpit

This is an MG-A, Mk 1.  It was built before 1960 but I don’t know much of the history on the car.  I have photographed it before.  It needs a restoration but it is in excellent shape for a 50-year old car.  It is a lot of fun to drive.  I liked this shot because you get the feel of the driver’s cockpit, how it is almost cut into the sheet metal, added as an afterthought.

Nikon D90 with Tokina 12-24.  1/80s at f/7.1.  ISO250.  In Lightroom, vibrance was added to bring out the blue, contrast was increased to bring out the reflections and clarity was increased for added depth.

1967 Porsche 912

I love cars.  At our 4th of July subdivision parades, classic cars are invited.  This was the first year for the Porsche.  The 912 was an entry-level car with a 4-cylinder engine.  I did not have much time to talk to the owner but these are very popular collector cars.  With their smaller engines, beautiful lines and nimble handling, they are a blast to drive.

I don’t know what the color is called but it is original.

Nikon D90 with Tokina 12-24 at 16mm.  1/800s at f/7.1, ISO 250.  I have been waiting for an opportunity to shoot cars with the 12-24.  I am very pleased.

In Lightroom, I added vibrance, saturation and clarity.  I bumped up the contrast to make the paint shine.   Lastly, I increased the fill light.
